Hello Refuge Friends!
We’re thrilled to publish our 2021 Winter Newsletter. A lot of work goes into this, between research, interviews, writing and final editing. Whew! Meanwhile, the days are getting longer and we’re all looking forward to new opportunities to enjoy the Refuge!
Our latest edition is packed with information that you won’t want to miss! It features an in-depth article about Great Hay Road – a road older than America! Special thanks to Andrew Schwitzgebel, 2020 AmeriCorps member, and others for their research help on this piece!
Also inside is information on recent upgrades on the Jehu Pond Trail, including additions to our pollinator gardens.
And finally, our Creature Feature Corner tells you everything you’ve been wondering about ducks that winter on Cape Cod; the dabblers and divers that you see out on the water, even on the coldest days! Thanks to Allysa McNeil, WBNERR/Mashpee ConsCom/Friends AmeriCorps IP member for researching this article.
So read and enjoy!
